This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and how we sell or share lead information with car buyers so they can make you an offer - plus your privacy rights and how to opt out.

This Privacy Policy describes how JunkCarValue.com, operated by Junk Car Value LLC ("JunkCarValue," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, sells, and shares the personal information of people who use junkcarvalue.com (the "Site"). It also explains the privacy rights available to residents of California and other US states and how to exercise them.
Who we are and what we do. JunkCarValue.com is a lead-generation service and reseller of consumer leads. We are not a car buyer. When you use our calculator and submit the offer form, we sell and/or share your lead - including your contact and vehicle details - with one or more third-party junk-car buyers so that they can contact you and make an offer. Those buyers, and not JunkCarValue.com, purchase vehicles and operate independently of us.
Scope. The Site is intended for residents of the United States who are at least 18 years old. By using the Site you confirm that you meet these requirements. This policy does not cover the independent practices of the car buyers or other third parties who receive your information; their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies. If anything here conflicts with applicable law, the law controls.
Notice at collection
At or before the point we collect your personal information, we provide the following notice of the categories of personal information we collect, the purposes for which they are used, and whether each category is sold or shared. We do not collect categories of personal information other than those described below.

Sources of personal information
- Directly from you - the information you type into the calculator and the offer form (vehicle details, ZIP code, name, phone, optional email).
- Automatically from your device - usage and device data collected through cookies and similar technologies when analytics is enabled, and your IP address.
- From service providers - hosting, form-processing, and analytics providers that help us operate the Site and may return limited technical information.
How we use personal information
- To generate your vehicle estimate and connect you with one or more car buyers.
- To contact you (and to enable buyers to contact you) about your request and selling your vehicle.
- To operate, maintain, secure, measure, and improve the Site.
- To prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To keep records of your consent and our transactions and to comply with legal obligations.
- To respond to your privacy requests and verify your identity.
How we sell and share personal information
Our core business is connecting consumers with car buyers, which involves selling and/or sharing your lead. When you submit the offer form:
- Car buyers. We disclose your identifiers (name, phone, optional email) and commercial/vehicle information (year, make, model, VIN, condition, ZIP, estimate) to one or more third-party junk-car buyers so they can evaluate your vehicle and contact you with an offer. Because we receive consideration for connecting you with buyers, this is a "sale" and/or "share" of personal information under the CCPA/CPRA and similar laws.
- Service providers. We use the following service providers, who process personal information on our behalf and are contractually limited to that purpose:
- Vercel - website hosting and content delivery.
- Formspree - processing and routing of lead-form submissions.
- Google Analytics - website analytics (loaded only when analytics is enabled).
- Legal and safety. We may disclose personal information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of JunkCarValue.com, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not share your contact details with car buyers until you submit the form and agree to be contacted.
"Sale" and "Share" disclosure
In the preceding twelve months, we have sold and/or shared the categories of identifiers and commercial/vehicle information described above to third-party car buyers. We may also "share" internet activity information for cross-context behavioral advertising through analytics or advertising cookies where enabled. We do not sell or share personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years old.
We do not sell your sensitive personal information for monetary consideration.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know / access - request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it.
- Right to delete - request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct - request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing - direct us to stop selling or sharing your personal information.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information - direct us to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to permitted purposes.
- Right to non-discrimination - we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
How to exercise your rights. You may submit a request:
- Through our online request form at /legal/privacy-request; or
- By emailing privacy@junkcarvalue.com.
We may need to verify your identity before responding, which may require you to confirm information we already hold (such as the phone number or vehicle details you submitted). You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require proof of authorization and verification of your identity. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honor opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information for the browser or device from which the signal is sent. Where required, our Site detects and processes GPC signals automatically, and we display the status of your opt-out.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Because we sell and/or share your contact and vehicle details with car buyers, you have the right to opt out under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar state laws. To opt out:
- Use our dedicated request page: /legal/do-not-sell; or
- Email privacy@junkcarvalue.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share."
- Enable a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, which we honor as a valid opt-out request where required.
Opting out will stop future sales and sharing of your personal information; it does not require buyers who already received your lead to delete it, though you may separately ask us to delete your information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising this right.
Other state privacy rights
Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon (OCPA), and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling. To exercise these rights, use the methods described under Your privacy rights above.
- Universal opt-out. In states that require it (including Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and Oregon), we honor universal opt-out mechanisms such as the Global Privacy Control.
- Appeals. In states that provide an appeal right (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and Oregon), if we decline your request you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing privacy@junkcarvalue.com.
Sensitive personal information and the right to limit
We do not seek to collect sensitive personal information (such as government identifiers, precise geolocation, account log-in credentials, or data about health, race, religion, or sexual orientation). To the extent any information we collect is treated as sensitive under applicable law, we use it only for purposes permitted without an opt-in, and you may direct us to limit its use by contacting privacy@junkcarvalue.com.
Calls, texts, and email
If you check the consent box and submit the offer form, you agree that JunkCarValue.com and the car buyers we connect you with may contact you about selling your vehicle by telephone calls and text messages - including via automatic telephone dialing systems (autodialers), prerecorded or artificial voice messages, and AI-generated or synthesized voice - and by email, at the number and address you provide. Your consent is not a condition of any purchase or sale. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out of text messages and HELP for help.

Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site and, when analytics is enabled, to measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings and an applicable opt-out preference signal. For details, see our cookie notice.
Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, connect you with buyers, respond to your requests, and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it. We retain consent records (the consent text, timestamp, page URL, and IP address) for at least 5 years to demonstrate compliance with calling and texting laws.
Security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children and minors
The Site is intended for adults 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact privacy@junkcarvalue.com and we will delete it.
Data broker note
Because we collect personal information about consumers with whom we do not have a direct relationship beyond the lead form and sell or share it to third parties, we may qualify as a "data broker" under certain state laws and may be required to register in states including California, Texas, Oregon, and Vermont.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where required, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
